Volunteers are a vital part of everything that happens at Perennial Park. Our dedicated volunteers of all ages enable us to offer more activities and services all year long at a great savings to those who participate. Volunteer is a grat way to make new freiends, renew old acquaintances, and stay active. Research ahs shown that people who engage in serving in their communities live healthier, happier, and longer lives.
With the vast services, activities and upkeep of the Center, we can always find a project for volunteers. Check out the many opportunties below for you.
Food Service:
Food Preparation...Preparing food for the dinning room, home delivered meals, and special events. This position involves standing, cutting, cooking, and serving.
Wait Staff...Setting tables for cafeteria or other food events, serving beverages, meals, and clearing tables.
Dish Washer...washing dishes, pots, pans and utensils for lunch and other food events.
Office/Clerical:
Office Help...Helping with light duties such as filing, copying, answering phones, etc.
Bulk Mailing...Periodic helping with letter folding and envelope stuffing, and assisting with sorting for mailings.
Legacy Club:
Participant Companion...Assisting participants with games, small group discussions, field trips, exercise, and musical activities. The Participant Companion also helps with lunchtime.
Miscellaneous:
Instructor...teaching a class about something you enjoy, such as gardening, etc. If you can teach it, chances are we can find the students.
Chair & Tables Set-up and Take Down...Occasional setting up chairs and tables and helping in other ways to make our events successful.
Maintenance...sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping a couple days a week.
Home Delivered Meals Driver...Delivering meals to homebound, frail older adults.
Volunteer Transportation Driver...Transporting frail and elder adults to non-emergency medical appointments.
